Tokenburner is a desktop app because the browser cannot safely spawn local shells, capture other applications, or run the loopback MCP control surface this product needs.

  • macOS may ask for screen recording permission when capture features are used.
  • Linux AppImage builds may need executable permissions before launch.
  • Windows builds use an unsigned NSIS installer today, so SmartScreen may ask you to confirm the launch.
  • No default install sends PTY content, screenshots, cost data, or file paths to Tokenburner servers.
Release-page links beat stale direct links during this phase. Once the public launch pipeline is locked, this page can switch to exact asset URLs and stronger platform-specific install guidance.
